Remote Control Addict: Self Confessed

In recent months, I have become more aware of my overwhelming obsession with television.  The way the world shifts for a moment of time to whisk the viewer away to worlds unknown to everyone. Some worlds never known if not for the magic of modern television.  I love the ability to feel like a cop investigating a case or a music mogul committing dastardly deeds in the name of success.  Either way you slice it, television is a transport into the worlds unknown; a virtual timeout for most of us and our uneventful lives.  I know some may say that television is an idiot box and that it may serve no real purpose. To the naysayers, I say this behind the shows are intelligent people who write words to paper and people who transform words to screen and finally people who make those behind the magic of television even better.  I'll never stop watching television, because when I sit down to watch TV I am no longer in my mundane world I am transported.

The 2015 Fall Television Season

This season is off to a great start with some promising new shows and interesting follow ups to last season hits.  I have to say for right now Blindspot is my new favorite show of the newbie. I will that say its surprising to me being that I am not a huge NBC, so it surprises me that two show on my schedule of shows are on this network.  I will say that my biggest disappoint comes from the Chicago Fire premiere being that they promoted the heck out of the Casey fiasco only *SA* to blissfully blow threw it in less than 3 minutes.  Of course I have to take my hat off to ABC being that they maintain some truly amazing lineups all the while adding some interesting thrillers, like Blood and Oil.  Blood and Oil stars Chace Crawford from Gossip Girl fame reads like a sophisticated Dallas reboot but the ratings don't have it pegged high on the renewal list of ABC that's a big reason I don't want to take a dive into the pool of this show. NCIS franchise is a solid television program franchise that has created these oddball family/co-worker dynamics that we all wish we had.  Another of these oddball dynamic groups is the show Scorpion, the insanely different but supremely similar characters create a cohesive whole that make you interested in each character as well as the collective whole. There are a whole slot of shows I will discuss in detail at a further date.  Happy TV watching.

Vampire Diaries

I absolutely love this show.  The give and take of the main characters is tremendous, how their simple lives turned from high school seniors to mythical creatures fighting for existence.  Now I know everyone is obsessed Elena and Damon, but what I find fascinating is Stefan.  I love his Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde motif.  I favor the Ripper side of Stefan, but there is something endearing about him seeing the world as a good place.  Much is made on the epic romance between his brother and his ex, but he has a subtly to him that is just wonderful.

Binge Watching

So I love to binge watch TV series on streaming services like Netflix, Hulu and more. I love some of the original Netflix series, Sense 8 is an interesting series that plays with senses and imagination. Binge watching a television show is fun because you don't have to wait a week for the cliff hangers, you just jump in and swim without stopping.

Try binge watching, it is awesome.

Duck Dynasty

The amazing merriment of the Robertson family has brought me countless hours of fun as well as wisdom.  It is a welcomed break from the over populated reality shows of air headed, inflated women or fruitless families. I find the best of Duck Dynasty is Uncle Si and Jase, they bring youthful exuberance and senior follies to balance out the rest of the entire cast. I hope there are many episodes to come.

The Blacklist............................

Although, I have a some problems on how the FBI handle things on this show, I am a fan.  James Spader is phenomenal as Raymond Reddington.  It can easily become one of t hose shows you watch a couple of times just to make sure you don't miss something.  I can not wait to see what this show can really do with him, but I look forward to finding out.
